Practice Nurses

Nurse Sally Lawson    Nurse Lisa Thomas    Nurse Sharron Golding

Our six GPs are complimented by three Practice Nurses who, in addition to assisting the doctors also hold their own surgeries and clinics.  The nurses are assisted by Health Care Assistants (HCA), Mrs. Tracey Huffer and Miss Sarah Bunn.

Nurse Sally Lawson joined the practice in 1992 she qualified at Middlesex Hospital in 1980.  After qualifying Sally became a staff nurse on a medical ward, she completed the Intensive Care course at Westminster Hospital in 1982 and subsequently worked in the ITU at the RSH for 2 1/2 years. Sally has a particular interest in COPD, asthma and smoking cessation and has responsibility for the surgery Quit Smoking programme.

Nurse Lisa Thomas  joined the practice in 1992 having previously worked as a Practice Nurse in Gloucestershire. She qualified in 1987 at Bath and worked as a staff nurse on a gastrointestinal surgical ward.  She held further posts in London and SE England before becoming a Practice Nurse.  Her special interests include diabetes. Married to a local farmer and mother to 3 boys Lisa is seldom bored!

Nurse Sharron Golding joined the practice in 2006. She qualified at Greenlane Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand in 1980. After a break to look after a young family, Sharron worked for several years as a staff nurse in the local county hospital and the Keri Keri Hospital before moving to England.

Tracey Huffer joined the practice in 2001 having previously worked as a district nurse HCA for 6 years. Sarah Bunn joined the practice in 2006, having previously worked in Ludlow Hospital. They carry out blood tests, hearing tests, glucose tolerance tests, BP's and ECGs.

Locum Nurses.  We encourage all staff to regularly attend training days and our nurses are normally away for 5 days each year on refresher/update training sessions. We sometimes employ locum nurses while our nurses are away.
