Breast Screening in the Midlands

Since March 2020, the NHS Breast Screening services have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. NHS England and Improvement (the commissioners of the Breast Screening services) are now working with providers to restore services.

NHS Midlands have provided us with a Question & Answer sheet giving information about the restarting of Breast Screening services in the Midlands. You can view it here: August 2020 Breast Screening Q&A

Please remember that Breast Screening is not aimed at women who already have symptoms. If you have found something that worries you, please contact the surgery directly.

For more information about breast screening, you can visit these websites:

Out of 100 women who have breast screening, 96 will have normal results. Of the remaining four, three will have no cancer and one will be diagnosed with cancer. All women will be invited for future screenings as appropriate.
